Hugo Runs The Extra Mile
Despite it being the hottest on record, we’re delighted to report that our very own marathon man Hugo finished the London Marathon 2018.
He has raised an amazing £3500 over the last two years for us.
Many months of hard training paid off although Hugo admits that at one light-headed moment he nearly fell as other runners were being picked up all around but he slowed down, walked a bit, rehydrated and continued to the finishing line. He said: “It’s been a great privilege to run the London Marathon for the ZST and I’m very grateful for the opportunity”. We are extremely thankful to him for the time and effort he has put into this task and the money he has raised will help us maintain support for the vital work we do in Zambia. This year is the 50th anniversary of ZST and we are aiming to raise £50,000 to enable us to increase contributions towards our education grants and to the Kwasha Mukwenu project. Of course none of this would be possible without the generous help of our friends, so a big “thank you” to all those who supported Hugo.
