Your Legacy: a disadvantaged child’s future
The Trust have been fortunate recently to receive three legacies. Legacies to The Zambia Society Trust form an important part of our income every year.
Leaving a gift to the Trust is a wonderful way of ensuring that our work can go on, and of helping to provide a better future for disadvantaged people in Zambia. If you are writing your Will, or updating an existing one, please consider including a legacy to The Zambia Society Trust. However large or small the gift, you can be sure that it will change the lives of those it helps. Because legacies to charities are exempt from inheritance tax in the UK the full amount will go to support our work. If you already have a Will, a legacy to the Trust can be added by writing a simple codicil.
It is estimated that there are approximately 1,200,000 children growing up as orphans as a direct consequence of the HIV/ AIDs epidemic in Zambia. They, their extended families, and local communities, need support to ensure that every disadvantaged child is given the best possible start in life in terms of good health and education to try to break the cycle of disease and poverty.
Just £48 enables a disadvantaged child to attend school for one year by providing them with a uniform, books and writing equipment; £2,100 funds a schoolteacher for one year. The Zambia Society Trust currently supports, on an ongoing basis, six disadvantaged children’s projects, and provides education grants to support disadvantaged Zambian students but we want to do more!
If you are kind enough to remember the Trust in your Will, please make sure you take advice from a solicitor about the correct wording.
Your generosity “Will” make a difference: a difference to a child’s whole life.
