Tim Legge’s (ZST Chair) visit to Zambia and reports on projects June 2026 number one.

The Chair of ZST Tim Legge has recently returned from a holiday in Zambia.  Much of his trip was taken up with visits to families and students whom Tim and his friends support, as well as time at St Francis Mission Hospital in the Eastern Province.

Tim did however make time to visit six of the projects ZST supports often travelling by local transport. He sent us regular updates via WhatsApp which we will reproduce in a series of blogs on our website and Facebook page.

“I arrived in Lusaka via Addis Ababa on Thursday afternoon.

Yesterday morning (Friday) I accompanied Kenneth, the APTERS manager, to a school for children with disabilities. APTERS has provided several pupils with chairs and other devices. The purpose of the visit was to advise the mothers how to use the aids, which Kenneth did in a kind, clear way, displaying his great knowledge of how best to help the children.

The funds raised by David Powell's son-in-law's golf efforts will enable APTERS to purchase a much-needed minibus to replace their current old and unreliable one. (David Powell is a former Trustee of ZST).

Today and tomorrow Kenneth and Karen will be at a market to sell the craft items which they make to raise more funds. Their commitment to APTERS and the children they help is commendable”.

Further information on APTERS can be found on their Facebook page, and on our website and in our annual report using the following links
