September 2019 Northern Golf Day report

September 11th saw Andy Rose and his team host their 9th charity golf day in support of The Zambia Society Trust. The venue as always was Rudding Park in Harrogate and, also as always, the course looked stunning and lovely in the early-autumn sunshine.

We received our customary warm welcome from the Rudding Park team and our golfers enjoyed what had to be the contenders for the world’s best bacon rolls before teeing off, armed with sustaining bars of chocolate. They played in perfect conditions, warm, not hot, dry not raining and with an accompanying gentle breeze.

Back at the clubhouse all enjoyed the chance to catch up over a pre-dinner drink, and we were delighted that most players were able to stay for dinner and prize-giving. The winning team was Lupton Fawcett LLP,   Congratulations to them on winning for the second consecutive year.

We raised a magnificent £2,600 for ZST, our best ever total and would like to thank all our golfers, Rudding Park and family and friends who offered their support to make the day such a success.

As we went into the day, we felt that this may well be the last time we organized such an event. However, the positive comments of our golfers and the success of the day means that we will indeed be back next year, completing a decade of tournaments!

We look forward to seeing you all again!
