Pilgrim, Salt in Community - Project Update

A brief update on July’s blog post from our Chairman John Barnard. Construction of the additional classroom has been completed, and repairs carried out to the existing building. Two more teachers are being recruited, making three in all. Over 100 children are now enrolled in the school. Lunch is provided, from the project’s farm. It is hoped that soon boarding houses will be constructed for children who currently walk very long distances to attend school.

Local health workers are being trained to help with follow up visits in the community.

Production of field crops and vegetables is going well. A piggery has been built and poultry are reared both for sale and for feeding pupils at the school.
