November 2020 Virtual AGM Report

The Annual General Meeting of the Zambia Society Trust was held remotely on Saturday 14th November 2020.

Around 50 people joined the Zoom meeting – not far short of the number who usually attend in person – and attendees included members from Zambia, the USA, Scotland and other parts of the UK. Feedback from those who took part was overwhelmingly positive.

The formal session was followed by an update on the projects we support and then our guest speaker, Jane Mundy, described her work with Prospero Zambia to establish “Destination Livingstone” to encourage the growth of tourism in the area by expanding the Livingstone museum and promoting other tourist attractions in the town. She also reported on the survey she conducted of historic buildings in the Livingstone area. Her talk is available to view on the Zambia Society Trust website – just go to www.zambiasocietytrust.org.uk and scroll down the home page to find it.

We are hoping that we will be able to include Zoom in all of our meetings in future, even after we are able to meet again face to face. We are looking into how best to do this. This is a great resource
