Brighton Marathon Weekend – 10km Sunday 7th April 2024
Karen Peart and husband Darren are running the Brighton 10km for the Zambia Society Trust on Sunday 7th April. Karen is the daughter of one of our trustees John Hunter. John and Karen’s mum Carole lived and worked in Zambia between 1969 and 1970. John was a Telecommunications engineer.
Karen says “They bestowed on me a fabulous Zambian middle name, Tukiyar after Tukiya Kankasa who was a pupil at Silver Rest School where my mum was a Matron.
I took up running about 5 years ago and now regularly run 5 km a week but have been looking for a chance to increase this distance. This opportunity does just that and I hope offers you a chance to support a charity close to your hearts. My husband is a much more proficient runner but is running this to support me and raise funds too.
The photo I have used as my background photo on my fundfraising page shows two secondary school pupils and two student midwives who are being sponsored with ZST funds”.
