Annual General Meeting of the Zambia Society Trust to be held online on Zoom. Saturday 18th November 2023 14:00 UK / 16:00 Zambia time.

A reminder that this year’s AGM is to be held online on Zoom. Our Chairman, John Barnard, sends this message to all members and supporters:

"I hope that as many people as possible will be able to attend by Zoom. Non-members are also very welcome to join us”.

The agenda is below. Members will also receive a copy of the Agenda and Programme with their copy of News from Zambia in October.  Non-members are not able to vote at the business meeting.

5. To elect the officers of the Trust for 2023-2024.  The present officers are:

John Barnard is standing down and Tim Legge is proposed as Chairman for 2023-24

6. To elect the Committee members for 2023-2024.  The present elected members are:

            Gretta Hudson                          Elisabeth Young

            Mathias Mbewe                                                            

Sadly, Roger Thompson died on 22nd May, and he is very much missed.

John Hunter joined the Committee during the past year.

At 2.30 p.m. after this formal session Tim Legge will introduce himself as the new Chairman and describe his recent visits to each of the projects in Zambia, John Barnard will say farewell as Chairman and give a summary of the remarkable achievements at the project “Pilgrim - Salt in Community” where a thriving “resource village” has been established to bring hope and prosperity to an impoverished, remote community, and Kenneth Habaalu and Karen Edwards, speaking from Lusaka, will give an update on the project “APTERS” who produce mobility aids, standing frames and special chairs with recycled paper and cardboard to assist physically challenged children.
